How Can Universities Advance the Community Schools Movement?
With generous support from the Netter Center for Community Partnerships at the University of Pennsylvania, the UCLA Center for Community Schooling hosts an annual convening to advance teaching, research, and service. The Inaugural Convening was held on February 8th and 9th, 2018 and on March 7th and 8th, 2019, the center hosted its second convening. More than 100 local, state, and national leaders from 40 organizations convened to share and explore how universities can contribute to the current community schools movement in California, Oregon, and Washington.
In May 2022, we look forward to hosting a third convening, to be scheduled in conjunction with the National Community Schools Forum organized by the Coalition of Community Schools and hosted in Los Angeles.
