Drawing on research from the learning sciences and from community school literature, this book chapter explores how community school teachers and other community school staff can collaboratively build new systems to deepen student learning for historically marginalized students and communities. The authors examine some of the ways that teachers in community schools can help create conditions in which low-income students have access to a wide array of learning opportunities similar to their more privileged counterparts.
