In this article, published in University and Community Schools, Karen Hunter Quartz suggests a framework for narrating the impact of university-assisted community schools based on a decade of experience at UCLA. She recounts how and why university-assisted community schools were established and describes the work of the two UCLA Community Schools, which are rooted in the ideals of democracy, justice, and education.
