School Redesign Research-Practice-Policy Partnership (RP3) Consortium

The Research-Practice-Policy Partnership (RP3) Consortium for School Redesign brings together four RP3 hubs that are advancing university-assisted community schools and a common vision of equity-centered thriving. The RP3 Consortium aims to connect innovative community school practioners with research and policy partners to develop and study high-leverage redesign strategies.

College Access and Persistence

This longstanding Research-Practice Partnership (RPP) aims to build stronger pathways from K-12 to college and career success. Based on UCLA Community School’s unprecedented increase in college-bound graduates, many whom are the first in their families to pursue higher education, this RPP supports the study of and dissemination of policies, structures, and practices that support college access and persistence.

Retaining BIPOC Teachers in Community Schools

In partnership with large urban districts in California, this Research-Practice Partnership (RPP) explores the experiences of teachers in community schools. The project integrates longitudinal community school teacher retention and demographic data with qualitative insights from community teachers, staff, administrators, and district-level administrators to understand, and share the conditions that can support retention, educator well-being and thriving.

Evaluating the Impact of California Community Schools

In partnership with the Sacramento County Office of Education, Californians for Justice and the National Education Association, the UCLA Center for Community Schooling provides support to California Community School Partnership Program (CCSPP) grantees across the state as the State’s Transformational Assistance Center (S-TAC). The UCLA team is establishing deep dive partnerships with grantees to identify and share effective practices and is leading a statewide impact evaluation to explore CCSPP outcomes.
